I’m a 34-year-old (how did I get so old) South African Indian working for a French pharmaceutical company who lives in the UK and who loves IT!
For my sins, I am a VCP (3, 4), MCSE (NT4), MCSA(2003), CCNP(retired) and CCDP(retired).
I have been responsible for the virtualization implementation at our company and first got my feet wet with virtualization in 2006 trying to P2V an NT4 server running a Compaq Proliant 3000. It wasn’t easy then and it took nearly a week before I got the virtual instance running. Mike Laverick was a great help since we were using BartPE to inject the PVSCSI driver!
We are now in the process of moving our last few remaining physical servers to our virtual infrastructure and I am looking at VMWare View as the solution to replace our current physical desktop estate. So hope that this experience can help others too!
